Folks in both parts of Ireland don't celebrate Bonfire Night (burning effigies of Roman Catholic conspirators doesn't really promote an inclusive carnival atmosphere), but they love the pagan festival of Hallowe'en...
...so here's a video of the finale of this evening's Halloween fireworks at the Odyssey, which made good use of one of the Harland and Wolff cranes. It may be Samson, it may be Goliath, but tonight it was fabulous.

I always thought Bonfire Night should start catching on in Norn Iron. The prods could have the whole "yay, we caught a load of taigs trying to undermine democracy" angle, while the catholics could enjoy the whole "yay, we nearly blew up half of London" angle.
But sadly, no.
A great initiative Mark, but as you rightly (and sadly) say, no.
